Functional Software Designer

Your future at Simacan
Would you like to help us to build the infrastructure for self-driving cars and autonomous shipments & transportation? Do you want to contribute to collecting and structuring the information needs of shippers, carriers and drivers? Do you believe that a good design is the start of an adaptable software system? If so, apply to become our functional software designer!

Simacan puts transport and logistics on the map. We’re an ambitious scale-up, currently focusing on going international and specialized in enabling the actual utilization and sharing of real-time geospatial data. Our products integrate real-time traffic information into the primary business processes of organizations involved in transport and logistics. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of creative traffic engineers, software engineers and product developers with a strong focus on performance, data quality and usability.

As a functional software designer, you will work in the lastmile.info project team to reverse-engineer the functionality of an existing application to manage preferred routes to delivery locations. The aim of the project is to renew and extend this application with all kinds of restriction-related information such as window times and zero-emission zones.
Multiple Simacan scrum teams are responsible for our software components. The functional software designer will help these teams to document and design data flow, business logic and semantic models. One of the great things about this role is that all our solutions relate to very relevant aspects of daily life – from grocery shopping to road safety, traffic congestion and even self-driving cars!
