Welcome Meryem, Finance officer

Hi Meryem! Welcome to Simacan, can you tell us something about yourself
I am Meryem and 31 years old. Together with my family - husband Mehmet, daughter Melodi and son Zayn Malik - I live in Amersfoort. In my spare time I try to exercise and spend time with my family.

You started with us in a crazy time, of course, but nevertheless, I hope you had a good start. What was your first impression of Simacan?
My first interview was with Hanneke (my supervisor, ed.) and Petra from HR and it immediately felt good. I'm glad that, despite corona, I made this switch to Simacan. From the beginning I felt at home; in fact, it already feels as if I am completely established.

Where did the working life start for you?
After my studies, I worked for 8 years as a sales accountant assistant at a company that produces tile carpet. After this rather long employment, it was time to look further and discover what I liked even more professionally. I then started working as a financial administrator at Optimo and was allowed to do so for 2 years. And now, since 1 December 2020, I am a Simacanner.

Can you tell us more about your new role at Simacan? What are you going to do and what are you looking forward to most?
I work for Hanneke, Chief Financial Officer at Simacan. I'm going to support her in her daily financial activities, such as booking banks and maintaining creditors & debtors. I am also picking up all emails concerning administration at the moment. And when corona is under control again and everything is back to normal, I will support in the monthly reports and VAT returns for Simacan. Previously this was done at our office in Enschede and now this will change as a result of my arrival. From now on everyone within Simacan can contact me with his or her questions in the field of Finance. I am looking forward to it!

Anything else you want to say?
My life motto is Carpe Diem (Latin for ’seize the day'). For me it is important to live in the present and enjoy every day.
