Michiel starts graduation at Simacan
Hi Michiel, welcome at Simacan! You came to us to do your graduation project, can you tell us some more about that?
That’s right! Sure I can. I came to Simacan to write my thesis for my master’s in Technical Business Administration at the University of Twente. After high school I started a bachelor’s in Technical Business Administration. After that, I worked for a year at CroonWolter&Dros. As a consultant, I assisted in the installation of a centrally managed and sustainable assets warehouse for the company.
To be able to start a master’s at the University, during this year of working I followed evening courses in Math, concluded by a state exam. After a pre-master trajectory of half a year, and one and a half years of master courses, I can now focus on the last part: my thesis. I am very much looking forward to doing this at Simacan, and to experience the culture and homeliness within the company.
You started with us in a crazy period, but we hope you had a good start nonetheless. What was your first impression of Simacan?
I had some trouble first finding a suitable thesis subject within Simacan, due to some problems with a supervisor at the University. Fortunately in the meantime I have managed to formulate an interesting question which I can hopefully work on answering.
My first impression was a warm welcome in a fun team environment. In addition, I had the luxury of experiencing Reboarding Day in my first week right away, which made me feel part of the team from the beginning. I really enjoy the open company atmosphere and I look back at a good start.
Can you tell us something personal about yourself?
I am Michiel, I am 25 years old and I have been living in Nijkerk for one and a half years now. I was born and raised in Amersfoort and I lived here almost all my life. I like to do fun things with my friends, and I love technics, gaming and music.
