Simacan welcomes Patricia Groenink

"Nice to get to work at Simacan as a content marketer! I am Patricia Groenink, freelance marketing professional and live on the outskirts of Huizen, near the beautiful Gooi nature area. I live there with my husband Frido and my two teenage sons Morris and Karsten. I also have a naughty, energetic and dotted dog child, Dalmatian Charlie."

About my personal life...
"Besides marketing and communication I have a big passion for interior (architecture) and the vintage lifestyle. Of course this is  clearly reflected in my own interior as well. In the past I have even been working as an entrepreneur in interior design and styling for a number of years and I've had my own home furnishing store in the heart of Hoorn.
Last but not least, I made the design for a major renovation of the first floor of our own home, which has now been carried out to our complete satisfaction.  Next, and now ongoing project: our attic!"

From information management to content marketing
"My store was a special excursion in my career path until then, because I am originally in the field of information and knowledge management. At that time, a very long time ago, I followed the Information Management course at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam after graduating from the Havo and then went to work for various companies. Think of ABN Amro, NautaDutilh and AKD Attorneys & Notaries.
In the course of time I've become more and more involved with content creation and I've slowly but surely rolled into content marketing. Since 2015 I am self-employed again, but this time as a freelance marketing professional. Besides Simacan, I have several other clients, such as a personal injury agency and a content marketing agency. At the end of this year I hope to complete my NIMA A Online Marketing education."

My start at Simacan
"The start at Simacan has been very special, of course entirely due to the strange corona situation in which we now find ourselves. Normally we would come to the office on our first day, you introduce yourself and get to know everyone who is already working there and find our way around the organization. Now everything is done remotely and by appointment, via the now familiar video channel Zoom. For me this is definitely not a problem, as I am used to working from home. But it is certainly different than we are all used to.
Still, I did get a good and positive first impression of Simacan right away, one I expected from the introductory talks at an earlier stage. I think Simacan is a very interesting company with a great company culture and plenty of opportunities and challenges for me personally within the marketing team. I am looking forward to contribute to the content marketing and to put Simacan on the map within the transport and logistics sector."

My philosophy of life in a nutshell
"My firm conviction in life is 'I cannot doesn't exist!'. If you really want something in life, you can overcome any obstacle to the end. Sometimes this is difficult, sometimes a bit easier, but I only believe that something is not possible when it has been proven. That is also quite ingrained in me: thinking in terms of possibilities, with a clear structure and organization to maintain or perhaps improve this. So far I have managed very well with that in life and I am still sailing on that. And as an independent entrepreneur this is certainly not a wrong way of thinking... ;-)"
